The design responds to the operating conditions

There is no standard tank for every process. The chemical composition of the fluid, the temperature, the pressure, the operating environment, the applicable regulations and the expected service life are factors that determine the design and the technology best suited to each project.

Variables that define a tank

Each variable determines a specific design decision. None is answered with a catalog value. Operating ranges and service life are defined for the specific medium, its concentration and the actual operating regime.

Medium, concentration, contaminants and density.
Determines the resin, the veil and the thickness of the internal chemical barrier.
Normal temperature, variations and transient events.
Determines the barrier system and the structural margin of the laminate. Peaks weigh more than the average.
Pressure, vacuum, venting and filling or emptying sequence.
Determines thicknesses, stiffening rings and venting. A tank that can go under vacuum during emptying is designed for that condition, not for working pressure.
Capacity, geometry, bottom, roof and available space.
Determines diameter, height, bottom and roof type, and whether the equipment is fabricated whole or in sections.
Agitation, connection loads, platforms, wind and seismic action.
Determines reinforcements, supports, anchors and the loads that must be considered in the structural design.
Transport, lifting, section assembly and inspection access.
Determines the transport route, the lifting operation and whether joints must be laminated in the field.
